Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Services
Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Services (IDDS)
Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Services (IDDS) is open to people of all faiths and offers programs and services that support individuals with disabilities, their families, and caregivers.
IndependenceWORKS (IW) houses our Community Access Group, aka the Day Program, featuring supported employment and a community integration program with numerous outings and activities. We also have community volunteers visit our center monthly to share their talents directly or through leading classes in cooking, yoga, music and gardening activities to enrich our clients’ lives.
The Zimmerman- Horowitz Independent Living Program (Z-H ILP) is a highly individualized living program enabling adults with disabilities to live as independently as possible in a 24-hour shared home or in their own home.
Disability Inclusion Training 101 (February 23, 2023): Presented by Abby Frantz, Community Access Group Program Manager, Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Services.
Testimonials
JF&CS Zimmerman-Horowitz Independent Living Program is such a great placement and it’s made us so much less anxious. ...we don’t have to worry what’s going to be happening with him and he is just so happy there. The staff is unbelievable. There is 24/7 staff there and they are so caring.
Parents of IDD Client
She has more of a voice in what goes on and I think she does feel a sense of pride at what she’s able to do. She loves telling me ‘I washed all my clothes and folded them all up.’ The JF&CS Direct Support Professionals definitely push her in a direction that was not happening before.
Parent of IDD Client
There’s no question of the quality of the Day and Residential Services that JF&CS provides for her. The community engagement and knowing that there are support professionals that are delivering those services gives us some comfort. We feel that she’s not only enjoying her day, but she’s also safe as well.
