Owen Halpern LGBTQ Affirming Therapy
Owen Halpern LGBTQ Affirmative Therapy is an approach to therapy that embraces a positive view of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) identities and relationships and addresses the negative influences that homophobia, transphobia, and heterosexism have on the lives of LGBTQ clients. To successfully provide Affirmative Therapy, therapists must create a space that is more than just tolerant or friendly. Therapists should be accepting and understanding of the experiences their clients face and should build this understanding into the therapeutic process.

Owen Halpern was a generous and caring person, with a lifelong appreciation for the arts and an abiding love for his native city of Atlanta. He cared deeply for those who had special challenges in life, and was a fierce advocate and champion for the LGBTQ community.
