Bio
Jaime Stepansky is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who completed her MSW at Smith College School for Social Work. Jaime has years of experience working with adolescents, young adults, and individuals on the LGBTQIA + spectrum. She has experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, issues related to gender and identity, ADHD, and other mental health or neurological disorders.
From leading outdoor adventure/leadership journeys in Costa Rica, to teaching high school, to coaching soccer, to working with youth and families in clinical outpatient and school settings, Jaime has a strong commitment to, and passion for empowering individuals to build their capacity for healing through education, advocacy, and community partnerships.
Jaime has been working with JF&CS since 2016. Jaime has provided individual, family and group therapy for children, adolescents, and young adults with emotional and behavioral struggles. In addition to one-on-one therapy, Jaime has led LGBTQ + process groups, as well as several psychoeducational workshops, including training teachers on learning and implementing trauma-informed practices in the classroom, facilitating Youth Mental Health First Aid workshops for professionals working with young people, and other psycho-educational programs on healthy relationships, gender, social media, and other mental health topics.
Jaime is an integrative and collaborative therapist, incorporating different approaches based upon the needs of individual clients. Jaime’s work is grounded in a strength-based, relational approach. Her treatment modalities include play therapy, sand tray therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), behavioral modification, DBT and CBT techniques.
