Bio

Sally Anderson is a Licensed Professional Counselor who completed her graduate degree Georgia State University. She has 10 years of experience providing psychotherapy and education to individuals and families who are struggling with substance abuse issues. While at Northview Counseling and Recovery, she ran the Intensive Outpatient Program and while at Laurelwood, she gained in-depth experience with stabilizing individuals in an inpatient setting. While serving as a therapist with the Forsyth County Accountability Courts, she helped clients who were at the beginning of their sobriety journey. From individuals to groups, Sally has extensive experience helping individuals recover from the disease of addiction.

At JFCS, Sally also works with clients who have undergone a wide-range of traumatic experiences. Using her training in Strategic Trauma and Abuse Recovery, a source-focused model, Sally is able to ally with clients and work within a collaborative framework in order to promote healing.

Sally is a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor through the LPCA of Georgia. She is able to provide supervision and support to therapists who are pursuing licensure.

Sally recently became a certified Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) caregiver. Sally is qualified to provide suicide first-aid by identifying risk factors and developing safeplans for persons who are contemplating suicide.

Sally is deeply committed to helping her clients heal using the power of connection and compassion within the therapeutic relationship. Using the foundation elements of self -compassion: self-kindness, common humanity and mindfulness, Sally helps individuals to cultivate their own resiliency.
