Bio
Lauren Green is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 8 years of clinical training and 13 years of teaching experience in the early childhood education field. She earned her B.S in Child and Family Development from Georgia Southern University and has a Masters in Community Counseling with a Marriage and Family Therapy emphasis from Argosy University. She has extensive crisis intervention experience from her work at Peachford Hospital, the Georgia Crisis and Access Line, as well as her internship at Emory Decatur Hospital. Lauren has worked in both inpatient, outpatient and group therapy settings as well as day camp settings, residential camp settings, and Lauren spent 4 years volunteering with MARR (Metro Atlanta Recovery Residences) in their men’s spiritual life support groups.
Lauren enjoys working with all ages and is especially skilled in working with children and teens who are experiencing depression, anxiety, anger, social issues, and negative self-esteem. Lauren utilizes a person-centered and solution-focused approach, while incorporating artistic, sensory, musical, dramatic and play based techniques. Lauren’s favored treatment methods include cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness training, play therapy, art therapy and role playing.
Lauren has always been passionate about working with children, and loves helping each child improve their self-confidence and overall sense of wellbeing. Lauren builds trusting relationships with her clients and their families by meeting them where they are, and by providing a judgement-free space that encourages laughter, fun, and self-reflection. In Lauren’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, hiking, painting, and singing car karaoke with her kids.
