Bio
Katherine Lucas is a Bilingual Licensed Social Worker. She is passionate about working with children and adolescents who struggle with self-confidence, emotional regulation/expression, depression, anxiety, impulse control, complex trauma, grief and loss and other mood disorders. Katherine specializes in family therapy and parental skill building to support the navigation of challenging experiences and dynamics within the home. Katherine believes we all respond to life experiences in ways that will protect us and allow us to cope with our environments. Often, the coping strategies essential at one point in our lives become ineffective, and even maladaptive at other points in our lives. Katherine approaches her work with empathy through a trauma-informed lens and prioritizes creating a safe, supportive, and confidential environment for children and adolescents.
Katherine has over 8 years of experience working with families and individuals. Katherine completed her MSW at University of Georgia. Katherine is well-versed in multiple treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, as well as Narrative Therapy. Katherine has formal training in clinical assessments specific to children and families, developing genograms, and identifying barriers to healing. Katherine is compassionate and insightful and delights in equipping her clients with necessary tools to improve their overall mental wellness and quality of life.
