Bio

With over 20 years of experience working with programs and services for older adults, Deborah became Director of Aviv Older Adult Services in June of 2015, where she oversees a comprehensive program that includes caregiver support services, geriatric care management, friendly visitor services, older adult counseling, and support for Holocaust survivors. With Deborah at the helm of Aviv, JF&CS is a core partner in our AgeWell Atlanta collaboration with Jewish HomeLife, the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta. AgeWell Atlanta provides a central point of entry for information and referrals with a warm hand-off to in-network service providers and promotes social programming and other supportive services through AgeWell Atlanta Neighborhoods.

Deborah spent nine and a half years at the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta as Manager of Community Planning and Impact and Project Director for NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community). In her former role, she oversaw the Federation’s Caring Outcome portfolio (health and well-being, financial independence), engaged Federation professionals and volunteers on domestic community planning efforts, partnered with affiliate and partner agencies to support collaborative problem solving to better serve people with disabilities, older adults and their families, and support financial independence. She also worked as director of education and executive director at Life Enrichment Services, Inc., a senior center which later became a part of Senior Connections.

She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master of Social Work from Boston College, and a Master of Business Administration in Human Services (Concentration in Serving the Elderly and People with Disabilities) from Brandeis University.
