More about Ellen

Ellen's Bio

Ellen has worked for over 13 years as a psychotherapist at JF&CS. She is also the Clinical Supervisor to the other clinicians and student interns. She received her Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia in 1995. Over the course of 20+ years, she has acquired extensive experience working in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings serving all age groups.

Using multiple modalities of treatment, Ellen believes that the therapeutic relationship we develop is the primary vehicle for healing and growth as we work through the challenges one is facing. Often, the patterns and challenges that arise in one’s life will replicate themselves in the course of the therapeutic relationship, giving the individual and therapist the opportunity to safely explore and challenge patterns of being and relating that are not serving one well. Providing a safe and nurturing space while helping one recognize and develop their strengths and skills makes way for change and the opportunity to flourish in one’s life. Every individual is different, and the time it takes for one’s healing process will vary from person to person.
