Kaya Duncan

Kaya Duncan is a dedicated public health and aging-services professional with several years of experience working with older adults across independent living, assisted living, and memory care settings. Her career in senior living began early in her professional journey and has provided her with firsthand experience supporting older adults, families, and care teams through the many transitions that can accompany aging.

Kaya earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Georgia State University and is currently pursuing her Master of Public Health in Health Management and Policy. Her academic background has strengthened her understanding of health policy, healthcare systems, population health, and the social factors that influence the well-being and quality of life of older adults.

Throughout her career, Kaya has developed experience in senior living operations, resident services, care coordination, and relationship-building with older adults and their families. She was also selected to participate in a leadership development program focused on professional growth, executive presence, dementia and mental health awareness, empathy, and team development. These experiences have further shaped her commitment to advocating for older adults and improving the systems and services that support them.

In her role as a Geriatric Care Manager with Aviv Older Adults at JF&CS, Kaya works to help older adults and their families navigate care needs, connect with appropriate resources, and maintain dignity, independence, and quality of life. In addition to her work with older adults, she serves as a Direct Support Professional supporting adults with developmental disabilities, giving her a broader perspective on individualized care and the importance of meeting each person where they are.

Kaya is passionate about aging, public health, and person-centered care. She hopes to continue using her experience and education to strengthen services for older adults, support families through the aging process, and contribute to policies and systems that promote dignity, independence, and quality of life.
