About Emily Zimmerman, MPH, BSHA, ADN Geriatric Care Manager
Emily has worked in healthcare for over 20 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and a master’s in public health from Purdue University.
Bio
Emily has worked in healthcare for over 20 years. Prior to JF&CS, she served as the Director of Palliative Care at Weinstein Hospice. In addition to serving as a Geriatric Care Manager, Emily has assisted with several of the Memory Support Services programs (Brain Health Boot Camp, Music and Memory and Robotic Pets) at JF&CS.
She started her career in the U.S. military where she earned her associate degree in nursing and additional certifications. This work experience gave her the skills and opportunity to serve many different cultures, populations, and religious backgrounds.
After the military, Emily moved to Georgia to work in the field of Oncology. During this time, Emily assisted in the coordination of additional services for many of her patients including specialist referrals, social services, private duty caregivers, and home health care services. Emily also spent many years as a volunteer with the American Cancer Society, serving as the Chair for District 6 of Fulton County. It was during this time that Emily fell in love with nonprofit organizations and the work they do with passion and dedication to those they serve.
Emily earned her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and a master’s in public health from Purdue University. She is a certified Eden Associate, has completed courses in dementia and traumatic brain injury through the University of Tasmania, and is working toward becoming a Certified Dementia Care Practitioner.
Emily is happy to bring her knowledge, skills, experience, compassion, and passion to her work each day and serve as a strong advocate for her clients’ health, wellbeing, and independence.
