Abusive behavior does not always look or feel like what we might expect.
Emotional abuse can be difficult to recognize and devastating to your wellbeing, and may be experienced as: Jealousy and control, Isolation, Humiliation and blame, Sabotage and Threats.
Abusive behavior may sound like: I love you. I need to know where you are at all times. It’s for your own good. You just embarrass yourself when you go out. You’re useless. You don’t know anything. I didn’t mean anything by it. You’re just too sensitive. I can’t live without you.
