Bio
Melody Healan brings over 20 years of experience as an educator to her work with children, adolescents, and families. She earned her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Agnes Scott College and returned to JF&CS as a clinician after completing her internship.
Melody works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, family transitions, and challenges related to ADHD and executive functioning. She helps children and adolescents understand and manage their emotions, build confidence, develop social skills, and strengthen relationships. Her services include individual and family counseling, play therapy, and parent consultations.
Drawing from Adlerian and person-centered approaches, Melody creates a space where children feel safe, understood, and comfortable being themselves. Her collaborative, strengths-based style incorporates playfulness, creativity, and encouragement. She partners with parents and caregivers to deepen their understanding of their child’s needs and develop practical strategies that support the well-being of the whole family.
Outside of her clinical work, Melody enjoys cheering on the Atlanta Braves, attending concerts and Broadway shows, and going on family adventures with her dog, Leia.
