Maternal Mental Health: 1.5 CEU hrs Submitted for CEU Approval by GSCSW

This 1.5 hour CEU session that is awaiting approval from the GSCSW will cover the following objectives:
• Identify the challenges faced with identifying and treating clients dealing with symptoms of maternal mental health
• Describe the symptoms and differential diagnosis of prenatal and postpartum depression, anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorders and psychosis.
• Identify evidence based screening tools and best practices for administering and interpreting scores and making referrals
• Identify social support, legislative changes, and community resources that may benefit patients with a maternal mental health diagnosis.

Keisha Reaves has been in the mental health field for more than ten years. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Human Services from Clayton State University. She then completed her Master’s Degree in Counseling and Psychology at the University of West Alabama. With her passion for maternal mental health, Keisha’s mission is to educate, support, and uplift other women who are experiencing difficulties in their own maternal cycle. Motherhood can be trying and can affect women in various ways which are why Keisha not only provides counseling, but also facilitates workshops, training, support groups, and speaking engagements to encourage mothers to push through.
