The New Era of Havinagala

Discounted tickets for Havinagala are now available during our Black Friday-Cyber Monday sale starting November 27 for the lowest price of $85. After Cyber Monday, tickets will be $100 in advance and $125 at the door.

JF&CS’ Havinagala: A Party for PAL has been the event for young professionals in Atlanta for the last 35 years and on January 27, 2024, it enters a new era. The setting of Illuminarium ATL is unlike any other; the venue on the Beltline is a unique immersive sensory experience, and guests will connect with the evening’s celestial theme. Attendees will dance under the indoor stars to the tunes of a DJ, enjoy drinks, light bites, and a silent auction alongside Jewish Atlanta’s up-and-comers. JF&CS’ Events and Special Projects Manager, Allison Holmes, is projecting the largest crowd in years at 400+ people.

Host Committee Chairs Brooke Berman and Emma Rinzler have played a stellar role in elevating Havinagala for the next generation. Best friends since their days at The Weber School, the 25-year-old roommates had a blast attending last year’s event. In fact, they had so much fun that they approached Allison and Sarah Bernstein, PAL Program Manager, about getting involved. Impressed by their passion and dedication, Allison and Sarah named them Event Co-Chairs earlier this year.

“Brooke and I are fortunate to have a built-in Jewish network, but there are a lot of Jewish Young Professionals in the city who don’t,” said Emma. “Havinagala is a great opportunity to network and meet other like-minded individuals who want to be involved in the community and support Jewish causes.”

“Given everything that’s going on right now in Israel, I think it’s really important to come together,” added Brooke. “We’ll be gathering to not only celebrate PAL, but to celebrate being young Jews in the community.”

Getting involved is important to Brooke and Emma, and they encourage other young professionals to start where they are. Helping the community, whether that’s supporting PAL by attending Havinagala, becoming a PAL, serving on a committee or co-chairing an event, “doesn’t have to be intimidating,” said Emma. “You can give of the time you have, and still make an impact.”

About PAL: Proceeds from Havinagala raise important funds for The PAL Program - the only Jewish Big Brother/Big Sister organization in Atlanta. PAL serves children ages 5-17 who can benefit from a positive role model or friend and bridges the gap for kids raised in nontraditional family structures. Big and Little PALs spend time together twice a month, and the relationships benefit the Bigs and Littles equally. The winner of the 5th annual Joel Libowsky Big PAL of the Year Award will be celebrated at Havinagala.
