Creating Miracles: Eight Nights of Giving

This holiday season, we’re offering eight ways to illuminate the lives of people who need it the most. As we light the eight candles throughout Hanukkah, we want to shine a light on eight JF&CS initiatives that create miracles every day.

In addition to more traditional programs and services, JF&CS has uniquely targeted initiatives that provide direct assistance to members of the community. Whether it is intervening to keep a family from becoming unhoused through Bridge to Stability, helping a family afford critical mental health support for their children through Peaceful Family Fund, creating joyous social opportunities for our Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities clients, or providing financial assistance to Holocaust survivors, donations to these and the other highlighted programs go directly to program recipients.

“As individuals and families look for ways to celebrate Hanukkah with giving tzedakah, our Creating Miracles: Eight Nights of Giving provides an easy and exciting way for anyone to help transform a life,” said Michelle Epstein, Development Manager.

Ways to Give:

“Help us create miracles for our JF&CS community by making a donation to any of the following programs that provide direct funding to recipients,” continued Michelle. “Though each night shines light on a different program, you can donate to any program on any day throughout the holiday!”

Night 1: A Bridge to Stability – Shine your light on those who need a bridge of support (rent, transportation, health-related items, legal assistance, temp dependent care assistance)

Night 2: BeWellATL – Light the way for our future through the youth mental health alliance providing information, resources, and groups.

Night 3: Peaceful Family Fund – Create a miracle for families needing financial assistance for youth mental health care.

Night 4: Maos Chitim – Spread the light of Hanukkah to Passover by providing Passover food for those who need assistance in fulfilling festival observance.

Night 5: Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Services (IDDS) – Light up the lives of our clients with special outings for social interactions and fun!

Night 6: Aviv Older Adult Services – Illuminate the lives of older adults and their caregivers with your support of social and recreational activities, residential community & at-home care services, and counseling & family support.

Night 7: Food Pantry – Shine your light on food insecurity through your support of the JF&CS food pantry.

Night 8 - Holocaust Survivors – Spread the light of the candles to those who have already experienced the miracle of survival. Your support helps provide home care, financial assistance, support groups, and socialization programs for survivors.
