Life is full of quiet challenges that can leave us feeling uncertain or stretched thin. At JF&CS, our adult therapy groups offer space to explore those experiences alongside others under the guidance of skilled clinicians. Whether you’re coping with family estrangement, mourning a loss, or working through questions around identity, self-worth, or major life transitions, you don’t have to do it alone.
Our therapy groups aren’t about fixing anyone; they’re about offering tools, support, and space for people to better understand themselves—and to do it alongside others who are doing the same. This summer, in addition to our kids’ therapy groups, we’re offering three groups for adults—each one carefully designed to meet you where you are and help you move forward with care and connection.
1. Family Estrangement Support Group
Mondays | 12 – 1 PM
On Zoom
July 21 – Aug 25 (6 weeks)
$50/session
Facilitated by Isabel Groebel, LCSW, and Heidi Roy, LCSW
Family estrangement is more common than we talk about—but it can still feel incredibly lonely. Whether the distance is new or long-standing, chosen or not, estrangement can come with grief, guilt, relief, shame, and everything in between.
This group is a place to explore those emotions in a nonjudgmental space. With the guidance of skilled clinicians and the support of others with the same struggle, members can begin to make sense of their story—and find some peace in the process.
To register: email Heidi Roy at hroy@jfcsatl.org or call 678.580.9764.
2. Bereavement Group
Wednesdays | 6:30 – 8 PM
In person at JF&CS
Aug 6 – Sept 17 (7 weeks)
FREE
Facilitated by Heidi Roy, LCSW, and Yael Fischer-Rosch, B.Sc, M.Sc, MPS
When you lose someone you love, the world doesn’t always slow down to let you grieve. But grief has its own timeline—and it deserves space.
With gentle structure and supportive facilitation, the bereavement group provides a place to heal alongside others who know what it’s like.
To register: email Heidi Roy at hroy@jfcsatl.org or call 678.580.9764.
3. Women’s Process Group
Mondays | 1 – 2:30 PM
On Zoom
July 14 – Aug 25 (7 weeks)
$50/session
Facilitated by Rivkah Muller, LPC, and Christy Araujo-Helms, Clinical Intern
Topics will include body image, self-worth, family dynamics, boundaries, or any of the quietly complex shifts we navigate every day. With skilled facilitation and an atmosphere of trust, the group becomes a space for women to reflect, connect, and grow.
To register: email Rivkah Muller at rmuller@jfcsatl.org
