Hit Refresh on Your Job Search

How could the upcoming Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah relate to finding a new job? Simchat Torah is the time dedicated to both completing the yearly cycle of Torah reading and starting to read it all over again. The Book of Genesis is the first book of the Torah and literally means “in the beginning” or “start of.”

Our goal in the Career Services department of JF&CS is to help people help themselves by providing them with the tools and resources so they can create a successful job search strategy. We will help you start at the beginning and start anew.

During these challenging times, JF&CS is here to help. Career Services offers a series of three, free monthly job readiness workshops. These virtual career workshops help job seekers create and build upon a solid strategy to gain employment.

Job Search

Our job search workshop explores strategies to conduct a successful job search that will help secure employment more effectively. Topics include how to handle the emotional roller coaster, job choice and self-assessments, identifying potential employers, creating a personal branding statement, networking strategies and more.

Resume and Cover Letters

This workshop details how to create an effective resume, or improve the one they already have, as well as identify the different parts of a resume and their purpose, create a master profile of core competences and accomplishments and provide a checklist of resume does and don’ts. This workshop will also help job seekers develop a cover letter to accompany the resume.

LinkedIn

LinkedIn is an every changing platform that adapts to the needs of the time. It remains an integral part of the job search puzzle and, during this workshop, job seekers and those in career transition will receive valuable information on how to create and strengthen their brand on LinkedIn, as well as how to use the power of LinkedIn as a networking tool.
