It’s all about the experience — the JF&CS Experience, that is.
Community of Giving is the annual event where Jewish Family & Career Services of Atlanta (JF&CS) comes to life with a program of live stories directly from our clients. But before last year’s event, we decided we wanted to go one step further and not only hear from our clients, but also let you see what they experience. So back by popular demand, the JF&CS Experience is returning for its second year.
What is the JF&CS Experience?
When you arrive at Community of Giving 2026, you’ll find interactive stations representing some of our service areas, including Aviv Older Adult Services, Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Services, Frances Bunzl Clinical Services, Ben Massell Dental Clinic, and Bridge to Stability. Program staff will be on hand to answer your questions and show you what participants experience in each one. Come curious, and bring your questions!
So, where do the drums come in?

Arnie (seated) poses with his Brain Health Bootcamp friends and Cheryl Chappelear, Memory Support Services Program Coordinator (center), at a recent class.
With Arnie . Arnie is a participant in , part of our Memory Support Services through Aviv Older Adult Services. The first program of its kind in Atlanta, Brain Health Bootcamp is a fun, social class where small groups work with trained professionals who specialize in supporting aging adults, using cognitive stimulation, physical exercise, education, and connection to strengthen mind and body.
Arnie comes every week to exercise his mind, and it wasn’t long before we learned he has serious skills on the drums. So, the Aviv team found a way to bring drumming into the program. It’s one example of how we work at JF&CS: we look for ways to build on people’s strengths and goals, and to help them share what they love with the people around them.
Arnie will be at Community of Giving with his drums, representing one of the creative, inclusive approaches we take to our services.
