Mitzvah Day for Young Professionals is just around the corner on September 15. We’re so excited to invite the young adults in our community to help support JF&CS programs and clients!
“Mitzvah Day is the yearly kickoff of exciting programming for young professionals” said Sarah Bernstein, PAL and Young Professionals Program Manager. “We aim for our Young Professional program to make volunteering accessible for everyone; if you only have time to give back on Mitzvah Day, we’re so happy to have you, and if you want to do more throughout the year, it’s a great way to try different things.”
Sarah and the JF&CS Young Professional Committee have curated thoughtful projects, all of which benefit JF&CS areas of service. All projects will take place at JF&CS offices in Dunwoody, except where otherwise indicated:
- Create clinical sensory kits for clients of Frances Bunzl Clinical Services and the Horwitz-Zusman Child & Family Center
- Build care packages for older adults in our One Good Deed program
- Prepare home-cooked meals for our I/DD clients in both our residential group homes and for our day program (this event is off-site at The Temple and Temple Sinai)
- Pack Rosh Hashanah gift bags for Holocaust Survivors
- Assemble personalized gift bags for our dedicated Direct Support Staff members who work with our Intellectual/Developmental Disability (I/DD) clients
- Pot plants to gift to Brain Health Boot Camp clients and caregivers
Mitzvah Day is made possible thanks to our wonderful community partners:
