DESCRIPTION: Culture can be challenging to grasp, yet it is essential to understand. This workshop explores relevant cultural concepts and helps participants recognize barriers to wholesome multiculturalism in mental health care. Participants will engage in discussion and activities that promote culture self-awareness and identify approaches to enhance cultural humility.
OBJECTIVES:
--> Explore four components of cultural humility.
--> Review four barriers to wholesome multiculturalism within the mental health field.
--> Engage in two activities that enhance the clinician’s cultural self-awareness.
--> Recognize five ways to engage in culturally humble counseling and social work across multiple cultures.
