DESCRIPTION:

Are you eager to learn about the latest headlines on book censorship and its deeper roots? This session will trace the evolution from legislation banning Critical Race Theory to the widespread banning of books about Black people, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and other marginalized groups, leading to the broader white nationalist goal of permanently altering public education. We will explore how these efforts undermine educational freedoms, erase important identities, and harm students' mental and emotional well-being, with a focus on justice in education including challenges faced by Jewish individuals.
