Family Volunteer Day

Information

Join the JF&CS Family Volunteering Committee & Jewish Kids Groups (JKG) on Sunday, March 19th, 2023 from 2 pm - 4 pm for an afternoon of volunteering for families with young children ages 5-12 (younger/older siblings welcome). For families that cannot join in-person, a remote service option is also available.

In-Person Project Passover Food Bag Packing

Families will pack bags of Passover food for community members in need. One of the less well known traditions of Passover is known as bedikat chametz – when we search our homes for the chametz/leavened bread before Passover begins. JKG will help kids create beeswax candles as part of a bedikat chametz kit to include in the bags and take home for their own Passover celebration.Families may also volunteer to deliver food bags after the event to recipients unable to pick-up from JF&CS while listening to the JKG Passover Spotify playlist.

Remote Project Food Pantry Shopping Experience

Families will use a list of our Food Pantry's greatest needs to go grocery shopping for donations. We will provide information and conversation starters to help you talk to your kids about food insecurity and how they can help.

Space is limited.
