Consulting with Parents in Adlerian Play Therapy

Join Nikole Pauli, LMHC, NCC, RPT-S, for a Zoom class on consulting with parents in Adlerian Play Therapy. The $60 class, payable online, will count as three (3) Core CEU's. Zoom link will be mailed after registration, and course certificate will be emailed following attendance.

After the session, participants will be able to:

1. List the four phases in parent consultation in Adlerian play therapy.

2. Explain at least two rationales for incorporating parent consultation into their work with children in Adlerian play therapy.

3. List at list four barriers that keep play therapists from doing parent consultation.

4. List 2 creative ways to include parents in the play therapy process if attending sessions regularly is not an option.

5. Describe at least 1 technique for working with parents in each of the four phases of Adlerian Play therapy.

Nikole Pauli, LMHC, NCC, RPT-S runs a successful private practice in her college-turned-hometown of Cedar Falls, Iowa. She is passionate about walking alongside adults, children, families, and couples. She is an approved Adlerian Play Therapy Consultant with extensive knowledge of the counseling process and specifically of teaching Adlerian play therapy, a therapeutic psychosocial process that values individuals as creative, resourceful, and whole. This technique employs an active and directive approach to working therapeutically with children using play (toys, stories, art, drama, puppets, and role-playing) as the vehicle for communication.
