Cari Newman and Miranda Barzey will provide a closer look at the anatomy of a tantrum, the root causes, and ways to guide your child through it. This workshop offers parents tools for monitoring and managing their own emotion regulation, and practical solutions for diffusing meltdowns in toddlers to teens. Our clinicians will also offer resources and insight into when it may be time to seek outside help. Parents will learn:
Friday, October 21, 2022 Speakers: Cari Newman, Certified Parent Coach, and Miranda Barzey, LAPC Cari Newman is a Certified Parent Coach, a Certified Life Coach and holds a master’s degree in teaching. She supports parents and caregivers as they learn to understand their children, break through frustration and burn-out, and sustain a positive, proactive approach to parenting. She supports parents of children with emotion regulation challenges, mental health issues, and social/emotional difficulties; children who don’t listen, don’t get along with others, and don’t follow rules; and children exploring their gender and sexual orientation. Miranda Barzey (she/they) is a play therapist who specializes in working with LGBTQIA+ youth and their families around identity exploration, trauma, anxiety, depression, suicide, and building healthy relationships. |
