Chaplaincy

At JF&CS, we aim to promote a healthier and more integrated community by providing spiritual care, comfort and support to members of Atlanta’s Jewish Community.

Illness and increasing frailty often lead to isolation and disconnection from the Jewish community. Our Community Chaplain, Rabbi Judith Beiner, and Bikur Cholim volunteers visit in hospitals, hospices, care facilities, prisons and on occasion, in the home.

Community Chaplain

Rabbi Judith Beiner communicates with local rabbis about their congregants in health care facilities, conducts indigent burials and provides emergency visits to members of the Jewish community in need. She provides information and referrals for JF&CS as well as support and collaboration with our clinical staff. She also provides outreach to both the Jewish and general communities through training and presentations to chaplaincy students and professional staff at area health facilities.

About Rabbi Beiner: Rabbi Beiner has a Rabbinic Ordination and Masters in Hebrew Letters from the Hebrew Union College in New York City. She holds a Master of Arts in Education from the American Jewish University in Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan.
