IndependenceWORKS

IndependenceWORKS is a comprehensive Community Access Group for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We serve adults ages 18 and older with mild to moderate intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Our ultimate goal at IndependenceWORKS is to provide day-to-day engagement and enrichment. We do this by exploring our community through group community outings and following a top-notch schedule of in-house activities. A community outing could be a trip to the bowling alley, a visit to an art museum, and anything in between. Our participants' community outings broaden their scope of the world around them.

On days when a community outing is not scheduled, our participants enjoy our 8,300-square-foot IndependenceWORKS building. Additionally, we have in-house programming where our participants follow a schedule of learning and socializing activities led by our team of Direct Support Professionals.

IndependenceWORKS is a fantastic option for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities looking for their next step toward independence. Available to people of all faiths.

IndependenceWORKS

We have many activities available on days when our clients do not go out into the community.

The IndependenceWORKS building opened in March 2017. This state-of-the-art building contains an art room, movement room, music room, library, classrooms, computer lab, a community-giving garden, teaching kitchen, and an all-encompassing sensory room. We also provide Clinical Oversight for our clients.

Additionally, we have in-house programming and adapted curriculum within our daily routine. We use the New-2-You curriculum as a guide for daily living and functional learning. We also have community volunteers visit our center monthly to lead cooking lessons and gardening activities to enrich our clients’ lives. Available to people of all faiths.
