JF&CS offers a host of services and social events for Holocaust survivors and their families. From social opportunities, and support groups, to reparations assistance and in-home services, JF&CS supports our city's Holocaust survivors.

How we help

  1. Café Europa

    These gatherings at Congregation Beth Jacob are held on the last Monday of each month and include a catered lunch, entertainment and great company. Café Europa is free for Holocaust survivors and transportation is provided upon request.

  2. Case Management

    Specially trained case managers provide in-home visits to assess needs and help clients access services such as transportation and homecare.

  3. Child Survivor Support Group

    Licensed clinical social workers provide a supportive environment for child survivors of the Holocaust. This group meets quarterly, and newcomers are welcome.

  4. Common Threads Discussion Group:

    Once a quarter, JF&CS holds a discussion group for children of Holocaust survivors facilitated by licensed social workers.

  5. Essential In-Home Services

    Through grants from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany and the Holocaust Survivor Support Fund (HSSF), eligible Holocaust survivors may qualify for essential services such as homecare, house cleaning, home-delivered meals, transportation, medical equipment, and adult day care. The fund also provides assistance in paying for prescriptions, medical and dental care. Emergency financial assistance is also available to eligible Holocaust survivors.

  6. One Good Deed

    This friendly visitor program matches volunteers with an older adults living independently, but who could benefit from some friendly companionship and support. Volunteers help their care recipient with running errands, shopping, cooking a meal, organizing bills or simply enjoying an afternoon out.

  7. Reparations Assistance

    Our staff is available to answer any questions regarding reparations or to help fill out reparations applications.

  8. Supportive Counseling

    Licensed clinical social workers provide supportive counseling services to Holocaust survivors in their own homes. These services are generally Medicare reimbursable.

Hearing Aids for Holocaust Survivors

Dr. Melissa Wikoff partnered with JF&CS to provide free hearing aids for Holocaust Survivors.
