Sarah is working towards her Master of Social Work degree at Smith College School for Social Work in Massachusetts. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2012 from Bridgewater State University with a focus in Clinical Psychology. During her time there, Sarah was a peer tutor and interned at both a middle school and a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. After graduation Sarah worked with adults living with severe and persistent mental illness in group homes and in the community. For the last six years Sarah was an Elder Protective Services Worker where she investigated reports of alleged physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, caretaker neglect, financial exploitation, and self-neglect. All of these experiences inform how Sarah advocates for her clients and believes in the dignity and worth of each person.

Sarah utilizes a strengths-based approach that focuses on drawing out each client’s unique capacities and abilities to heal and grow. She works with clients on developing self-awareness and learning new ways to approach difficulties in their lives. Sarah utilizes various interventions such as mindfulness, art, play, and CBT in her work with children, adolescents, and adults. Sarah also co-facilitates groups on grief and loss and caregiver support.
